Knitted gotland and gotland x hebridean headband in my own handspun lambsw

This is definitely one of the most special things I make. A hand-knitted headband crafted from handspun yarn from my own bred gotland and gotlandxhebridean lambs. I bred the ewes, kept them healthy over the winter, ensured they lambed safely, and helped if necessary. Raised the lambs and hand sheared them at 6 months old to carefully utilise the softest fleece and to prevent the fleece becoming too thick and felting over winter. I then picked and carded the individual colours, spun them on my Ashford spinning wheel, plied the yarns together to create fades, blends and more solid tones. Washed the skeins then knitted this headband.
Back breaking, labour intensive, a real labour of love and satisfaction in being able to make every single step of the process.
